Poetry Class in a Nut Shell
To be honest, this is possibly the most fun I've had in a class. I've learned how B.A. Dorothy Parker is, how I don't like Bob Dylan's voice, and how popular Walt Whitman is to other poets. I am now able to visualize poems that try to trick ones mind, and find the hidden message. I know how America went from anti-consumerism to consumerism. In any other english class, I would not of been able to connect real life to the class.
If Mrs. Lewis weren't my teacher I doubt I would of enjoyed it near as much as I have. Never have I had a teacher who would draw to explain the details. Never have I had a teacher who has such a diverse range of music on her iTunes; Bob Dylan, 2 Pac, and Public Enemy. She understands that no one is the same, and we all have different opinions; she still loves us. She takes into account all of our opinions with our work and how everyone is different writers. I have always had english teachers disagree with my opinions with books and my papers. With our reflections we could voice ourselves in any which way, and I love her for that.
If I did not take this class, I would not of recognized half the names on my SAT. Now that I have taken this class, I believe I have raised my points by over 50! This has been by far my favorite class of all time.
