Wonka's Believe it or not....

Believe it or not.... Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory uttered some words of poetry. Wonka himself said, "Candy is dandy but liquor is quicker." The quote most famoulsy attributed to Ogden Nash! A poet referance in a very famous movie? Get out of town! But don't get too suprised just yet, Willy Wonka in the Chocolate Factory quoted other famous poets such as Oscar Wilde- "The suspense is terrible, I hope it will last." Another poet by the name of John Masefield- "All I ask is a tall ship and a star to steer her by." And one man most famoulsy known for his plays William Shakespear! "Is it my soul that calls me by my name?" Crazy stuff right? Who would have thought that a movie this famous would be interested in including poetic referances!

It all came about when I forgot the person accredited with saying, "Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker." Before I could even finish typing in 'quicker' my search was narrowed to Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory... look of shock. I clicked the first link and BAM all of these famous quotes from the movie linked with famous playwriters and poets, it was insane. But answers soon came when I looked up who wrote the MOVIE! Drum roll please..... Roald Dahl! Dosn't sound familur? James and the Giant Peach, Matilda, The BFG (Big Friendly Giant). NOW does he sound familur? Well yeah, this guys a legend! I still watch Matilda to this very day! My answers were answered when I realized Roald Dahl, a world's best selling author and kid's story teller would be familur with famous poets and would find it appropriate and humorous to include them in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Also, while on my journey of information I had the treat of stumbling upon the Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory movie trailer. It is quite overdramatic and histarical, so I felt it only necessary to include for your plessure.
